Another type of virality that I’ve seen work well is implementing a waitlist.

Perhaps we can call this the “Scarcity Virality” because it signifies exclusivity and plays off the human need to go after something we can’t get.

Key examples: Mailbox, The League (great HustleCon talk here), and even GMail when they first launched.
