RALEIGH, NORTH CAROLINA, February 10,2016- In todays society, youth smoking is extremely prevalent. In Raleigh North Carolina an artist named Kevin Lyons created a mural. The artwork that Lyons created was used as a special limited-edition Vans shoe design. The text within this mural correlates with the truth campaign “Finish It”. The Truth Initiative is a campaign devoted to creating a society where youth and young adults refuse tobacco products. “We hope that by incorporating this initiative into a popular brand can inform youth and teens about the dangers of tobacco products” said Lebron James, representative of Truth. The shoes for this campaign were released on January 20. They were sold for $60 dollars.
“We wanted to make sure that the majority of people could afford this product in order to raise awareness to end youth and teen tobacco usage” said, Kevin Lyons. The representative of Vans, Charles Barkley said “it is important for youth to break these addicting habits now rather than later in life.”

Vans are the first action sport company to bring new ideas of shoes and clothing. Vans wants all customers to be creative and express themselves through the different designs and styles of shoes the company manufacters.
