Just to precise things: the main point of James Damore’s memo is not to say that women are not talented to code, but rather than, on average, women are less coding-driven. There is clearly no relevant and robust evidence to claim something such as “women are less talented to code”. However, there is clearly evidence indicating that less women enjoy the coding activity as it is practiced today.
And this does not mean that the code-oriented women are less talented than the code-oriented men !!!!
Also, James Damore doesn’t say anywhere that these differences in preferences are only biological, but he points out that it’s difficult to deny they are at least in part biological.
