How is it that the business of plastic consumption in our nation has become a partisan political issue?
It’s not. It’s a non-issue. Instead it’s become another example of how the sh!t-stirring left dominates our national discourse with meaningless tripe.
A simple search of “plastic drinking straws pollution” in Google reveals countless sources documenting statistics
Within one year the number of internet articles and news stories dedicated to the straw crisis has gone from zero to epidemic.
was all of 9 years old in February 2011 when he conducted his own research to get an idea of approximately how many plastic straws were being discarded in the United States.
That’s right… A nine year old.
No doubt his progressive public school teacher gave him an A for his 4th grade science report which was cited by numerous fake-news organizations. Too bad they don’t include this little graphic:

The US with 330 million citizens and 95,000 miles of coastline contributes far less pollution into the world’s oceans than tiny little Bangladesh (pop 160 million, 360 miles of coastline)
So, to be clear, this isn’t an issue virtue signaling Democrats ought to adopt in order to distinguish themselves from evil iced tea slurping Republicans. This is a good way to lose my business. If you own a restaurant and fail to provide me a straw, I will be disappointed in the lousy service. I won’t leave my customary 20% tip for my waiter, and I probably will find an alternative source of calories in the future.
“Offer First” policy where restaurants offer straws first to the customer instead of serving one with every drink.
How about… No. How about we stop complicating our lives over every infinitesimal stupid non-issue? How about we stop reading these absurd articles about the evils of straws and devote some time to researching real problems.
For those of you who live in cities that have banned straws, fire your politicians, walk away from the ridiculous Democrat party, and get yourself an “assault straw”
