Mr Bildt forgot one major cultural advantage.

6. Sweden is a Christian nation. Not anything near a theocracy to be sure, but Swedish culture is deeply influenced by Christian philosophy even though a 2009 Gallup poll revealed only 17% answered yes to the question “Is religion an important part of your daily life?” For nearly 1,000 years Swedes have experienced a largely homogeneous history which includes Protestant Christianity. Now Sweden is buckling under the pressure of multiculturalism and globalism that invariably leads to crime, corruption, and economic instability. Sweden’s challenge is to continue “integrating to the world” while retaining the stable unified society that has made them so successful. Recognizing the important role Christianity has had in building that society is vital.
