Sunday 22nd March 2015. I wake up at abot 8AM. I get ready for the day and get in the car to go for the roughly 3 hour drive to Adelaide to see an exclusive masterclass with Bruce Kulick. His resume is so long and there are are many great moments in his 40+ recording/live history. Being in Blackjack with an up and coming Michael Bolton, to playing in Meat Loaf’s touring band for the Bat out of Hell tour, playing Todd Rundgren’s parts and also dueling off with his brother, Bob. Shortly after, Bruce considered playing in Billy Squiers band. He didn’t as he got asked to play in a band that made him a household name. KISS.

After reserving a massive tour poster, my family and go and grab something to eat. Anxious to get there, I led us back to Billy Hyde’s where I met up with some fellow KISS ARMY members including Andrew George, and DJ Motormouth.

I take a seat in the second row next to my new buddy Andrew and we wait for Bruce, and he shows me some of his KISS vinyl.

Bruce walks in to a roaring cheer. He takes he seat and begins to talk. I listen, extremely interested in whats being said. He talks about KISS and guitars mainly, but he delves into other topics and gives us a lot of good advice. He tells us many a story about KISS days, guitars, random things that have happened to him etc. It’s a fun filled hour and a half that I would do all over again.

He went into great detail about everything we wanted to know about and even played us KISS’s Domino and jammed on AC/DC’s Highway to Hell.

After the class was over, we make our way to meet Bruce. I introduce myself and ask him a few questions and get my poster signed and I bought a photo card with a Grand Funk Railroad guitar pick. GFR rules!!!

I got in the elevator with some other people and left Adelaide. Thanks Bruce.

Stay tuned for an interview with rock n’ roll guitar legend.
