Farewell, My Lynceus

“It is always important to know when something has reached its end. Closing circles, shutting doors, finishing chapters, it doesn’t matter what we call it; what matters is to leave in the past those moments in life that are over.”
Paulo Coelho, The Zahir

5 years with you was never easy. There were times that I couldn’t figure out what I would say just to ease the intimidating-awkward aura when we’re left together. Even so, you did your best to brighten up my day and make it more meaningful by sharing your sensible thoughts and silly jokes. Your touch eases the edge which sprung from the tragic events of my past. You made me feel that life isn’t bad at all.

I fell in love with you.

Yet, you love someone else.

You love her more than yourself.

I’m sure I couldn’t keep up with her since she’s perfect. She’s every man’s dream, and I understand why you’re so into her. That’s why I decided to end this illusion of you falling in love with me even if it hurts, even if it it’ll take quite some time for me to move on and forget the memories we’ve had. For me, I value your happiness that’s why I’m setting you free. I’m letting you explore the beauty of life and love. May you fulfill what God has written for you.

Remember that you will always remain special for me.

I wish you all the best.
