We’re delighted to formally introduce Gwera Kiwana as Thrive Africa Community Principal.

Gwera, Ugandan, has been working with the community since early 2022, closing deals, and advising portfolio companies. She will be helping us expand our community and portfolio across East & Southern Africa as well as bring her fintech and web3 expertise to build capacity for fintechs and institutional crypto startups she believes will propel the future of Africa’s web3.

Gwera spent the last decade building and scaling fintech startups and scaleups across Europe and Africa. She currently works in consulting where she advises and builds truly digital financial services for banks, fintechs, governments and enterprise financial services, across the globe. Gwera also runs a Women Who Build Africa. An intentional community of women across the globe, who are actively working to build the future of Africa.
