I am a “Kinsey 6” homosexual man — never felt the least bit of arousal in response to women, and I’ve been out as gay for 25 years. On the other hand, I’ve never had to deal with gender dysphoria, and I can’t offer specific advice on that. But I suspect that “I’m not trans; I’m differently cis” may be a healthier long-term option than hormones and surgery.

I also make a personal motto out of this:

You need to figure out what helps you thrive and be happy, and avoid pressure to jump aboard a trendy bandwagon just because others insist that it totally worked for them.
