9.7.2014 — When we leave and how to pray
In just over a week our crew will be departing from the prairies of Canada, flying over the Atlantic to our first stop, London, England. It’s in England where we will spend just under 2 weeks of our time tracing the life and ministry of Charles Haddon Spurgeon. We then will take the ferry to Dublin, Ireland where we will spend a couple days interviewing Spurgeon’s direct descendants. The morning after we catch a flight to Paris where we will drive to Geneva, Menton (southern France) and then back to Paris before heading home.
There has been a tremendous amount of planning that has gone into this project. I’ve been working on it the past 10 months. Addiontially, our screenwriter, Aaron Armstrong has been working diligently on the script. It’s coming together well and I’m very excited to start the filming process.
The crew that will be travelling as we film is as follows:
Stephen McCaskell (me) — Director/Producer
Matthew Pennings — Director of Photography
Brendan McCaskell — Production Assistant
My hope is to keep all of you who supported this project updated as we film abroad. I plan to do so by posting frequent updates to the blog here, so be sure to check back often and like our page on Facebook if you haven’t already.
Please keep us in your prayers as we embark on this massive project on 9.7.2014. Pray for us as we travel that we’ll be kept safe. Pray for us as we cross the borders that it would be seamless and quick. Pray for our appointments, the ones planned and the ones unplanned. Pray for our families back home. And most importantly, pray that God would be glorified in everything that we do.
“If we give God service it must be because He gives us grace. We work for Him because He works in us.” — C.H. Spurgeon
