Inexpensive But Great Places to Visit in Batu, East Java
People need holidays to release their stress because of work or school. And as a Malang citizen, I often visit Batu to spend weekends or holidays. According to itrip.id website, there are thirty-three tourism spots in Batu that are most frequently visited by tourists. Most of that tourist attractions cost quite a lot to visit. But if you are a student like me who wants to have fun but don’t have much money, don’t worry. Because there are still two best places there to visit when you have a minimum budget.
One of them is Alun-Alun Batu which has become an icon of the city. There are some things we can try there, for example, the Ferris wheel. We can get the ticket for only around five thousand to ten thousand rupiahs. This ride is so big and tall that we can see the beautiful city landscape when we reach the top. Especially in the evening when we can see the sunset, or in the night when the lights beautifully adorn the city. And then you will also find two cute fruit monuments that make this place so iconic. Not just a good place to take pictures, but this building also functioned as a public toilet. The other facilities in this place are free like the kid’s play and the water fountain.
The second best place to visit in Batu is Goa Pinus. Named Goa Pinus because there is an ex-excavation cave from the Japanese colonial era. The cave is not the main attraction, but there are many good things around the cave. This is the best place to get a good view of pictures. They offer several great spots such as Joglo, Rumah Papua, Taman Kelinci, the pine forest, and many more. Then you just need five thousand rupiahs for the entry ticket and you can pay the same price for each photo spot.
All in all, the facilities that Alun-Alun Batu and the Goa Pinus offer are relatively cheaper than other tourism spot that Batu has. Even if they are not as good as the other places, we can still have a good experience with the family or friends there, that will remain as one of the good memories if you have a chance to visit Batu.
