Very cool piece! I must admit some bias in the comment I’m about to make, since I build Language bases, but don’t you think some — at least initial — linguistic structure helps (a lot)? Specially when it comes to semantics? In FrameNet Brasil we’ve been applying a cognitively oriented lexicon/constructicon for generating detailed semspecs for sentences. The advantage of using structured knowledge about language is that it addresses precisely some of the “big” words in your word cloud: ambiguity, vagueness, complexity, perspective…
