These are the End Times.
Because…religion.
I’ve been an insomniac for almost a week, ever since the news broke of Trump’s latest scandal. I can say that because there have been several scandals. This time is more disturbing to me. I’ve been obsessively scrolling through Twitter and watching the same regurgitated news until the wee hours of the morning in anxious anticipation of what horror would next be revealed.
I’m not the least bit surprised at the major players — Trump, Giuliani, Barr — and you can’t tell me that you are, either. They broadcast with flashing neon signs their corruption to the entire world, almost flaunting it, because they know their brash ignorance + arrogance has served them well up to this point.
As a Kansan, I’m also vindicated to see Pompeo included on the list. We’ve long known his brand of idiocy here at home, and the savvy Trump handler he’s been labeled as recently is a smokescreen. I was hoping his brand of “wisdom” (i.e. ass kissing) would be exposed.
The only thing that could make this circus any sweeter is if the whistleblower turned out to be a member of Trump’s own family.
Despite all this, I’m not feeling particularly…celebratory. You would think as a liberal Democrat I would be dancing in the streets at all this excitement.
