Payton Lee, I think people like to give, mainly because they expect something in return. But to be honest, I haven’t met a lot of people who give just for the sake of giving (and making the other person feel good).

What you see at the bottom are tools that can help Medium writers collect emails for their blog. It’s something that can bring more people back to their blog and gain a bigger (real) following. Ultimately, it’s their choice if they want that or not — I’m just offering it incase they do need it.
