Why don’t transgender people just date each other? I could not see myself dating or engaging in sexual intercourse with a trans man nor could I see any man who calls himself heterosexual having intercourse with a transgender woman. There is more to being a woman than having a vagina and breasts and unless you were born female you will never know what it is like to truly be a female and the same for those who feel they are men. I look at gender and sexuality in a scientific way. XX= WOMAN; XY=MALE. There will never be a change in that. I respect those have decided to be who truly feel they are because I could never imagine having to go through something like that. I just hate the fact that people are being called transphobic because they don’t want to date people who do not agree with the gender they were assigned at birth. I also think its wrong for transgender people to not be honest about themselves when they meet someone. Its deceitful and dishonest. The reason most don’t disclose that information because they know deep down how the other person would feel. Instead of transgenders fighting and debating over who is or is not trying to have relationships with them (straight men and women) they should be fighting for equality in the workplace. I lived in an area; a really good part of town where most of the people were trans men. It was really sad because most of them worked the streets at night. I have a really good trans friend and I would beg for her not to go out and do what she had to do for money. And I show “ her” respect by calling her a she because she puts in the effort and time to try to look feminine. I also have trans friends who are stylists and are so amazing but what about becoming a doctor, or a lawyer, or a manager somewhere. Fight for those and then everything may fall in place. Blacks ( whose struggle totally different) fought for so much in this country to get where we are today. When the civil rights movement came about we weren’t protesting for the right to be with white men and women we were fighting to have the same rights as them.
