Copper, in the real world, is a pretty much common resource. While in the game of Fallout 76, copper is a rare resource. This kind of resource is widely used in most electronic devices, which means that you will need it for things like generators, lights, power switches, turrets, and some of the more advanced mods in Fallout 76 game. Just like gold and silver, you can find copper throughout the world in copper deposit and veins in Fallout 76 and can be harvested directly. Another way to gain copper, you can find it in a lot of different junk devices which can be scrapped.

Here are a few different things about copper that you need to know about. First of all, the copper you get from junk is different from the copper you get from a vein or deposit. The raw copper would need to be taken to a chemistry station and then smelted into Copper Scraps to use in crafting. Copper that you find in junk will already be in the form of scrap.

Here are the items that you should watch out for when you are trying to get copper:

Also, an alternative way of searching for copper in the wasteland is to use the workshop to gain the resource that you urgently need. Figure out which workshop has copper and then go there and claim it. Once you do, you can place an excavator down and then get the item that you urgently need instead of hoping to encounter it in the Appalachia world. Luckily, there are multiple workshops that provide copper as a resource.

Here are the workshops that have copper deposits: Check this out, Billing’s Homestead, Charleston Landfill, Dabney Homestead, Grafton Steel, Spruce Knob, and Wade Airport. And in case you do not know where to find these places, you can check this Fallout 76 tip. It will give you all the Fallout 76 workshop locations.
