Project 365: Day 293 — Pune Trip

I’ve been to Pune about 3–4 times in my life. It’s a 4 hour journey by road from Bombay. In my experience, even though it’s a metro, the people are pretty backward in terms of their thinking. Perhaps I’ve had this perception because the people I have met were older and of a certain older generation can’t help but be old fashioned most of the time.

Over time, a lot of people I have come to know who live in Pune in my generation are quite nice. Some are older than me. So it’s been very pleasant to know these folks from Pune closely. A lot of people move here (as opposed to Bombay), also because living here is much cheaper.

The other thing I have loved about Pune this time is how many great places have come up here in a very short span of time. While I haven’t explored the beer breweries that have popped up here, the sheer number of dining options are amazing. I think I’m always drawn to a place based on the food on offer, so I must say Pune has charmed me.

Here’s a picture from the menu of Arthur’s Theme, a European restaurant we visited tonight. Charming food and every dish on the menu was named after a person — characters in fiction possibly. Good night!
