Project 365: Day 66 — When your body slows down
I’ve been experiencing various physical slowdowns lately. There have been a lot of niggling problems that I take a while shaking off and this hasn’t been the case before.
Like before my birthday, I had a horrible ear ache that had apparently been caused by a throat & nasal infection which in turn had been caused by an allergic reaction to a skin cream. The ear ache was back two days ago and I’ve been on the same throat infection-led medication for the last two days. The pain has lessened but I’m surprised it popped up even after completing the dosage. Then, the gums on the left side of my mouth have swollen and I’ve no idea why. I initially thought it has something to do with the ear as it’s the left ear that’s been hurting but then I examined my gums in the mirror. Medication again is healing it, but it’s a slow process.
Digestion hasn’t been the best either. Puked a bit last Friday and fell really sick over the weekend. Suffered from acidity today and had to pop pills. I feel like an old person; I remember my grandfather would pop antacids, pills and god only knows what else in his last few years. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I have been staying up really late hours of late. I haven’t been sleeping before 3 or 4 am at all in the last week and a half.
The only reason I feel worried is because I feel like my energy is ebbing. I’m low on energy in the monsoons anyway thanks to the gloomy weather but sickness drains me of all my energy. I don’t think I can afford that while working or otherwise. I’m half considering turning into a morning person like my partner, though he is the other extreme that can wake up at 5 am. In my experience, I’m more tired on days I might attempt to wake up that early.
Still 7.30 am wouldn’t be bad either. Let’s see if I can do that. Tomorrow morning doesn’t look possible given that it’s 1.30 am right now. Let’s try sleeping a little earlier and rising a little earlier for a while, in order to prevent premature ulcers, shall we?
Thanks for reading! Personally, I feel my writing has been getting a bit sloppy.
