A new cliché for Artificial Intelligence

AI is fundamentally based on a central collection of data. However, the outputs are often emphasized, instead of the data that informs the shape an output takes. Instead, the goal of this visualization is to show individual parts of the whole. Hair has a unique shape, while each individual strand and its quality, texture, and style plays into how the entire shape takes form.

Each strand as a piece of data, growing incrementally as time goes on and as data is accumulated. The inherent quality of hair and the algorithmic process it seems to grow by (based on stress, and nutrition) seems to be an appropriate metaphor for AI.

Hair is also affected by its environment (wind, rain, humidity), just as data is affected by its contexts and ecosystems.
