Virginia Tech students charged with murder of teen girl
Seventh-grader Nicole Lovell’s body was found in North Carolina this past weekend after she went missing on Jan.27. Two Virginia Tech students, David Eisenhauer and Natalie Keepers, have been charged with her abduction and murder. Prosecutors say that Eisenhauer’s relationship with Nicole began online through social messaging app Kik, eventually sparking a meeting that would lead to her capture and death.
Amazon starts one-hour delivery service in Hampton Roads
Amazon is making deliveries available within one hour of the order in certain zip codes in the Hampton Roads area. Amazon Prime members will be able to see when the delivery service becomes available in their zip code with Amazon app. One-hour delivery will be available for $7.99, while two-hour delivery will be available for free.
Bill proposed to train teachers to recognize learning disabilities
A bill has moved to committee that would require teachers to receive training on identifying symptoms of learning disabilities such as dyslexia and attention deficit disorder. The subcommittee moved the legislation (carried by Del. Ben Cline) to the House committee on Feb. 2. Concerns over the proposal include doubts about how to fund the training, and how help would be administered if a disability was found.
