Tips on how to turn your shed into a summer house
There is much more to a shed than just being a place to store your garden equipment.
Below, we are sharing some tips on how you can turn your timber garden shed into a sumptuous summerhouse that will be the focal point of your garden this season.
Setting the scene
Clear away any of the clutter in your sheds and ensure there are no cobwebs. Dust all the areas of the shed that need dusting and clean any windows. Generally, clear the space around the structure so you can get to work.
Let light in
A summerhouse is all about allowing light in so you can look out onto your garden.
If your shed doesn’t have any windows, you may want to add some. The easiest way to do this may be to remove the old door and replace it with a door that has windows.
Painting your sheds’ interior and exterior is the ultimate step that will make it feel as if your shed has transformed.
At this point, you can also add extra protection from the elements by adding protective coatings, or using paint that includes these features also.
The last step is to furnish your space. This will be entirely dependent on the amount of space you have available. A great idea would be to install some sofas or chairs with cushions.
