Analysis:

  • Total listings are simply a snapshot of the current available supply of a collection, but are a helpful indicator in how much new buying would be required to move the floor price. With 6.2% of the total collection listed, PunkScape is in an advantageous position relative to OG banner peers such as MidnightBreeze (12.3% listed) and top PFP collections like BAYC (8.6% listed).
  • Of the 622 listed PunkScapes, 114 of them (nearly 1 in 5) are listed above 2.50ETH. The majority of these holders don’t believe their Scapes will sell any time soon at these prices, so these should be considered separate from the natural market until the PunkScape floor rises significantly.
  • The 30-day and 7-day average sale prices (0.2554ETH and 0.2626ETH, respectively) being well above the all-time average sale price (0.1727ETH) is bullish.
  • The 7-day sales volume of 17ETH is low, relative to recent weeks (over 75ETH). The general NFT bear market has resulted in fewer new buyers, but hasn’t had the same downward pricing pressure on PunkScape as it has on other collections given that the majority of the community appears happy to hold.

Trait-Specific Stats

We analyzed 52 popular PunkScape traits — isolating the floor price, number listed, rarity factor (1.00% = 100 in existence) and a Value Score for the current floor of that specific trait.

In theory, the higher the Value Score is, the more attractive the current floor PunkScape would be for that specific trait.

It is important to note that rarity isn’t everything though, especially with PunkScape. There are numerous additional factors fuelling PunkScape demand, such as their Twenty Seven Year Gallery Date, diptych/triptych/++ compatibility, animations, community popularity, and more.

The PunkScape community has embraced the challenge of finding, buying, and merging multiple scapes to form unique creations. Like this one by Pickle. This creates an interesting dynamic in which non-rare PunkScapes could be considered highly valuable by others in the community.

Here is the breakdown:

Analysis:

  • at the time of publishing this post and looking solely at a function of price and trait rarity, the most undervalued PunkScape currently listed for sale is #9581. Its rarest trait is Ether Sky (just 68 exist, and only 6 of them are listed for sale). Here it is in Chapter II animated form:
  • inversely, the most overvalued trait in the collection is the Cybertruck. The other way to look at this is that the Cybertruck is the most valued trait, based on PunkScape holders voting with their digital wallets. Just 50 exist, but only 2 are listed (at 4.4ETH and 4.5ETH, respectively). We definitely aren’t selling our two Cybertrucks any time soon.

Conclusion

The goal of sharing these numbers is that they can speak for themselves.

We know that there is a significant time commitment required to research a new NFT collection and feel confident enough in your understanding of traits, rarity, and the community demand to make your first buy. Our hope is this research can cut down on that time for potential new Scapoors.

And of course we want to share alpha with the PunkScape community members who already believe in the project and want to find the best deals to expand their collection.

Disclaimer: Nothing written here should ever be considered financial advice. This is just our perspective that we are sharing for educational and entertainment purposes. Additionally, we are heavily invested in (and therefore severely biased towards) a banner project called PunkScapes. You’ll see them referenced here in this post, and many, many more times on our Twitter feed. Do your own research.
