I’m glad you have found your way to the dance floor. I crave the connection of lead and follow, of the conversation between two bodies within the rules of the dance. Be it a Waltz, Foxtrot, West Coast Swing or a Tango, moving to the beat with another body, suggestion accepted or passed, enjoying the flight across the wood flooring. Not as connected as a hug or more adult behaviors, Dance is my retreat from dating when the behaviors get a bit bizarre.
I do have to admit that I find that holding off on sex really helps. A couple of months of dating before the hormonal mess of sex really let’s a relationship settle in first, then add the naked physicality. Of course rage I lose many after a few weeks who determine that slowness is disinterest, just a product of our McDonalds dating culture, but they are out there.
Probably more important in the city where I now live are eating habits. Ladies seems to pride themselves on weird eating habits! I’m an omnivore and oft joke that I’m on a seefood diet (yes-I see food-I eat it) Paleo, organic, no beef, vegetarian, vegan, etc., seems harder to deal with than even showing up on the second date with Brides Magazines to look at wedding dresses (yes it happens!)
