Maybe there’s something in the act of having to physically donate to your chosen two every month that makes it more mindful? I’m not sure where I’m going with this, but maybe by taking the time to like, sit down, find your debit card, put the numbers in the thing and then click “donate” makes it less rote.
How To Help: A Friday Chat
Megan Reynolds

I did something like this — $20 to a different charity every Friday. I had a phone alarm to remind me which helped it feel more intentional and less passive than an auto-debit set up. I stopped temporarily a few months ago due to some unexpected expenses, but I’m hoping to start up again in January. I also prefer to donate to local nonprofits, or local branches of national organizations — I want my donation to make an impact in my own community.
