Wow that’s a bit harsh. For what it’s worth, at my university (big D1 state school) swimmers have a reputation for being the most studious and responsible student-athletes, and all the swimmers I knew did a fantastic job of balancing challenging academics with athletics and a social life. And not that I know Ledecky personally, but it seems like she’s got a good head on her shoulders and is going to college for the right reasons, not just to party.
