5 Fabulous Slow Cooker Recipes
Who doesn’t love their slow cooker? They make meals so much easier (you just throw in your ingredients and allow it to cook your meal while you go about your day), and in the summer, a slow cooker can become an even bigger asset! Keep your house cool and keep warm air out by using a slow cooker (which generates very little external heat) and avoiding your oven this summer! Here are five of my favourite recipes to throw in your slow cooker.
Slow Cooker Baked Ziti: pasta doesn’t have to be a time-consuming hassle, and can be a great kid-pleasing dish! This one doesn’t require any oven baking time, as it completely cooks in your slow cooker.
Slow Cooker Moroccan Chickpea and Turkey Stew: This tasty stew is high in protein, and provides just the right amount of spice. If turkey’s not your thing, substitute chicken, or leave the meat out altogether and pile on the veggies and legumes to make this dish your own!
Slow Cooker Honey Buffalo Meatballs: If you don’t have a barbecue, or if you want your meatballs ready to eat when you get home from work, try these slow cooker meatballs! Made with hot sauce, they have a dash of heat that makes them perfect for summer.
Chicken and Quinoa Minestrone: This hearty soup is loaded with protein, and makes a filling, healthy meal that can easily cook in your slow cooker while you’re going about your day!
