For many of us, back to school is just around the corner! Getting our kids ready to go back to school can be a mix of stress and excited anticipation. At SupperworksKW, we’d like to take some of the stress out of planning for you and help you get your kids’ lunches organized! Here are five of our favourite, easy school lunches to help you get ready.

The best part about all these recipes? They’re easy to prepare ahead of time, so your AM prep is simple.

Ham, Apple, and Cheddar Sliders

Jazz up that ham sandwich that your kids may have gotten tired of by making it tiny! These ham, apple, and cheddar sliders contain a delicious combination of flavours, as the apple and cheddar give it a unique tang. Use slider buns to package two or three tiny sandwiches in your child’s lunch.

Pizza Roll Ups

If your kids love pizza, take advantage of it by making pizza roll ups. They’re easy to prepare, customizable to your kids’ favourite toppings, and small enough to include in school lunches. While the recipe calls for bread dough to make your roll ups, try using Pillsbury Crescent Roll dough to make the recipe even easier!

Hamburger Soup

Don’t be intimidated by this recipe’s long ingredient list! Hamburger soup can be made using many canned ingredients and common spices that you likely already stock in your pantry. This simple but hearty soup can be packed in a thermos for your child to enjoy at school.

Kiddo’s Favourite Trail Mix

Pack a healthy, tasty snack packed with protein to help keep your kids full throughout the day! This trail mix with pretzels, Goldfish crackers, chocolate, and Cheerios is a crowd pleaser. The great part about this recipe is that it’s easy to swap in ingredients that you know your kids will love.

We recommend: skipping the nuts to be sensitive to those with nut allergies.

Frozen Fruit Cups

This tasty combination of fruit will infuse your child’s diet with essential vitamins, and it also tastes incredible! Portion out into tiny Tupperware containers to include in your child’s lunch!
