There, in that graveyard,
Down on Hollis Street,
Among the weathered tombstones,
The quiet graves, the mossy stones,
The loved ones not quite forgotten,
A spider paused in the moonlight
A drop of dew burdened her web,
Cricket songs on a tender spring night
Suspended between chirps.

Left by God & the Angels
Among the indifferent dead,
There under a shielding oak,
Where once I had slept
To dreams of that gray land,
I sat, listening to echoes
Of heartbroken gratitude
Clatter among the spheres
Off into the distance.
