Desolation
Darkness. Nothing more pure, and unfaltering. It holds no favor or contempt. Though it may be controlled with certain ease, it holds bearing over all it interacts with. Darkness, consumes light ceaselessly in the universe. In our reality, one could say that, Darkness, is on a perpetual tug-of-war, in a game it cannot lose. To fight Darkness, you must put in effort, though entropy weakens you evermore; with the precarious advantage that it has, you are only holding back the inevitability.
Two may be great friends. Imagine them as planets in a solar system. As they orbit around their star (or rather their commonalities) time goes on. The older the star becomes, the greater it’s light. As the light reaches them both ever more, the darkness between them fades. This is a fragile system. It won’t go on forever. Other objects fly between them, causing eclipses and impacts. Some more devastating than others. The heat of their star, though reaches them both, the reality of their worlds remain starkly different.
Inevitably, through actions of their own, or that which they cannot control. The light will one day fade. It’ll become dim and frigid, or explode in glorious superfluous destruction to end all that existed between and around them. However it occurs, it will end. That much is forever true.
Embody light, and shield your world of the impending doom. Let not a single object strike through your atmosphere. Take sight to the skies and beyond to see the distant neighbor. Realize the shortness of the world, as the desolation will occur, as it was always destined. Strive for understanding to strengthen the light which you have, to shrink the distance between your orbits. One day, though unlikely, two worlds may join as one. Envision this holdout for time, and allow failure to subside away as a possibility.
Inevitable as the universe may be, you are not to bend to its will. Let Darkness struggle. Come to sonder, while the light still shines. Destiny be damned!
