The REAL Superbowl Halftime Show
This year held the 50th Superbowl. The halftime show featured Coldplay, Beyonce and Bruno Mars. Supposedly Coldplay was the main act. But they really weren’t.
There once was a time where the Superbowl halftime show would feature one main artist. That was all that was needed. If there was a guest singer, they didn’t steal the show from the main performance. The people who put together the halftime show now seem to think other artists are needed. Of course they announce the first artist early on and act all big about it making you think it’s all about them, but when it comes down to the show, the main performers barely get singing time by themselves. Coldplay could have held their own just as well as Bruce Springsteen or Paul McCartney but no one will ever know that with Beyonce and Bruno Mars ruining their moment. At least Beyonce and Bruno Mars could have matched color schemes or have similar music but none of the songs even remotely fit together. Bruno Mars already had his shot and really blew it too since his show was actually taped and none of it was live. Beyonce had her own show too. So why is it that they get to take all of the glory away from Coldplay? It seems that over the years the so called main performer has been getting less and less singing time, so what’s going to happen in a few years time? Is it really worth cutting short the artist that is supposed to be headlining the show?
