A Clinton Presidency with Republican Majorities in the House and Senate would have also been a hamstrung, scandal-ridden nightmare. At no point in my response did I say that it would have been a cake walk. But the argument here isn’t whether there would be scandal and intrigue in another administration, but whether a crime was committed by the current one. What would be the point of convincing someone that it would have been different? This is where we are right now, and all partisanship aside, there have been some serious attempted abuses of power by the president that affect the executive branch across administrations, its relationship to the other two branches over time and the trust of the American public.

It’s hard to imagine any of this happening to Obama, as you seem to have suggested with your ‘any politician’ note. But I guess that’s because they ran a no-nonsense, tight ship for eight years and won twice running two honest campaigns. The scandals that were attempted didn’t stick with the exception of Benghazi, which still resulted in no indictments or charges.

PS. I voted for Bernie in the primary, I just put my big-boy pants on when Clinton won and tried to look at the big picture.
