Good times and Not so Great times

I’ve noticed that people seem to enjoy some parts of their lives (good times) and not others ( not so good times). Should we only live for the good parts of life or should we enjoy the whole journey? I personally enjoy eating and reading. I also look forward to the good things that happen in my life. But I wonder if we’re missing out on the seemingly mundane things when we only look forward to the good things. Work is usually viewed as a necessity rather than an opportunity. If we accepted what happens to us in life, the good and the bad, would we be more happy?

I think we would. Yet this is a struggle for us. Work may be boring or mundane but gives you a feeling of accomplishment that you won’t get anywhere else. Maybe God wants us to contribute to society. I think work is built into human nature and not something we can avoid. How can you enjoy your work? Do you approach your work with a sense of purpose? Or do you dread getting up in the morning? Are you thinking only of yourself and what you can get or are you thinking of others and what you can give?
