What a great and thorough write-up. It’s unfortunate that some people’s need for the sensational and outrageous is overpowering a more mundane, but much more tragic explanation: a young, at-risk person who happened to be on her own, in unfamiliar surroundings, in a moment when she needed assistance and care.

While I can understand that people love a good mystery (I do, too), I feel for her family that not only has to cope with the loss of a loved one, but also with speculations of which many are bordering on the tasteless and demeaning.
