In my experience (I’ve been a reporter for 17 years) when you ask the public for ideas like this all you get are agenda driven suggestions. I have found, much to my chagrin, that most people don’t care about issues unless it is playing into whatever agenda they are pushing. This obviously creates a plethora of problems and, at least for me, a lot of time and energy wasted.
