When I was online with my Treo (Palm OS) waiting for the first iPhone to see if it lived up to the hype, just listening to people talk about what the future holds made me spike my phone on the ground and leave the line. Dumb people with the ability to interrupt me at a moment’s notice. I went Skype only for three years. No calls to the car, no unrealistic expectation of immediate contact and response. Only voicemail and the chance to be in a relaxed space where I could focus on my interactions.
