But actually, and factually, the average white American male does support Trump…. That is apparent from the electoral results, and polling. It is not arguable actually. In fact, based on the election the majority of white women do too…at least enough to vote for him. Now, of course most is not all, but when you say the average white male does not support Trump you have literally no credibility. It is one thing to say “don’t blame all of us — not ALL white men!” (a pretty whiny and weak and fragile argument, but whatever), but quite another to simply misrepresent the sorry state of white male politics in the country. Rather than trying to redeem our image, it seems it would make more sense to challenge those white men who DO support Trumpism and show as much outrage at them as you do at the supposedly horrible leftists who are lumping us all together. It isn’t the left giving these folks a bad name…it’s white men doing it to ourselves, frankly. And black and brown lives, which are literally being attacked daily by structural inequity and racism, are more important than white people’s feelings about being called out…
