Based on what you described it is astounding that anyone would pump much oil now when it will be so precious in just a couple decades. The U.S. Strategic Oil Reserve will be worth a fortune.

Alternately, Solar and Wind with Battery Storage totally replaces fossil fuels for base load and surface transportation. Oil Reserves and the Strategic Oil Reserve become mostly worthless stranded assets.

So does energy become scarce and expensive or cheap and plentiful. Scarce and expensive means death and war and violence. Cheap and plentiful means peace and harmony and less climate change.

The former is what will happen if energy alternatives are not advanced(which it seems is what you predict) the later is a utopia that we can only at best come close too. The reality is somewhere in the middle and nobody knows but God.
