It lacks a large enough constituency that can understand and support it. It would need a leader who can craft a narrative to sell it to the people and at the same time defend themselves from the attacks from the establishment.

There is nobody in sight who can do that. Nobody who is even going to try.

Well, Bernie might try but he does not have what it takes. If he gets elected president, he would need a majority in Congress as well and of course a strong mandate from the people.
