Just to eliminate any confusion. You are advocating that the U.S. Government and EU Governments should make a massive investment in new Electrical Infrastructure Projects and that the Reserve Banks of the EU and the U.S. should buy the Government Debt that will need to be issued pay for that work.
I would like to see an analysis by the proper economists of the effects of this huge Fiscal and Monetary Stimulus.
Do the resources exist to build the Smart Grid and Solar and Wind farms?
In a factory near my office GE is making wind turbine blades, this is no trivial operation, doubling production would likely be a challenge and that is just one small piece.
Won’t this increase the production of greenhouse gases?
Aren’t huge projects often wasteful and susceptible to fraud and abuse?
Wouldn’t a more modest and longer term approach be better?
Instead of a boom bust cycle shouldn’t we plot a sustainable path?
