One way would be to pick your employer more carefully and not focus so much on “Commanding a Great Salary.”

My employer has created or at least tried to create a work place that is like an extended family. Nobody is “Laser Focused” everyone is expected to take on tasks that they have never done before or adjust in one way or another. We have taught each other much.

I was laid off from another employer because I would not work much overtime and declined as much travel as I thought I could avoid. I had a dying wife at home and told them she was very sick and needed me. I still worked more than 40 hours a week and had over 400 hours of unused vacation. Two of my coworkers from that job who have sick wives at home now work with us.

The whole likes and comments on Facebook, what is up with that. To me Facebook and Work are separate, I use Facebook staying close t0 family and friends but not about work or coworkers or marketing or job searches.
