Seeing you write this “solve global problems, and the results of those conversations will have input into decision making.
I’m hopeful that we’re going to get better at not just imposing technologies on people or cultures.” Gives me hope and pause. Hope because you are advocating having people solve their own problems, all be it with help. But pause because of your outlook that frames these problems as “global” the adjective is unnecessary and reveals your bias. The problems are local but they might be all over the globe. They need local solutions because each problem is unique if similar to problems elsewhere. Just drop the Global buzz word and help these people solve their problems and don’t presume they want to be part of some Global movement. “Imposing technologies” makes you a corporate snake oil sales person.
