This believable story says that if the Rich gave $5 billion to the poor they would get back $10 billion in returns. It works to the point of the poor spending every penny they get, you can probably count on that. Of course with the way we Import stuff a lot of that would go to Rich in other countries. Of course I am exaggerating some of that would have to work its way through the working classes and middle classes before the Rich got their cut so the Rich don’t care because the Trickle up is just not worth them losing control of the Cash Flow.

Better a staggering amount of Cash in the Bank than an unpredictable return on generosity. Berkshire Hathaway has $100 billion in cash it does not know how to invest, seriously. Sure if they gave it to the poor most of the spending would benefit other companies but the poor would spend it and it would double thru the economy as a massive stimulus. The Fed tries to do this with low interest rates and QE but the Banks just can’t find borrowers so it does not get spent.

If you are going to fix the economy by giving away money, do the right thing and just give an equal amount to everyone.
