You do make some very good points. Yes, I understand that many countries would fail, will fail if when they run out of oil. The Saudi’s late to wake up have started to diversify their economy. Adapt or die, the world is a place of constant change.
I guess you have not watched many BMX riders. “Like a man riding a bike-we must go forward. Stop pedalling (sic) and you are pitched into the ditch” Stop pedaling and you coast, stop steering and get pitched into the ditch. BMX riders and I can balance a bike without pedaling, it is not really that hard even stopped. Just saying that is a poor analogy, we need to learn new tricks.
The whole world was slow to wake up to the end of Oil is neigh. Climate Change and possible rulemaking to end Oil early could start trouble.
Fossil fuels are finite resources and as they become less common they will become more expensive. It does not have to lead to violence but like you indicate it is likely is will lead to some level of increased violence.
Can you quantify the levels of violence we should anticipate and can you point to the hot spots where the violence will be most extreme?
