I lived on the streets for 10 years, and In rooming houses for another 5, while I waited for my segment 1 government housing, once I got my housing, I never looked back, even after I was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. I’ve now had a full time job for the past 5 years ever since overcoming my cancer and I run my own business on the weekends. It’s really good for me to hear about this story because I’ve never met or heard of anyone that’s escaped similar circumstances to myself, 99% of the people I grew up with, are dead or in jail or living on welfare and drugs, so it’s a breath of fresh air to hear about someone else pulling their life together without the help of a family.

I’ve often wanted to tell my story and have seriously considered writing it on here, I have so many stories to tell, like the time I got stabbed in the eye with a dirty butter knife in the infamous “Gatwick” hotel, or the time when I slept on the street, a girl I knew partner was murdered whilst she slept next to him, over a drug debt…….. so many stories, but I don’t have the education to articulate myself, I left school in year 9, I couldn’t put myself through school and raise myself at the same time, I just didn’t have the maturity and wisdom to do so at that time.

But i think many people could benefit from my story, I just don’t know how to get it out there or where to start.
