Distractions
We tend to find all kind of distractions: work, hanging out with friends, tv, going out and getting drunk. Don’t get me wrong. Some of these things can be very fullfilling. But as a way to distract ourselves they can be worse than drugs.
Why is it that we sometimes so utterly long for distractions? Is it that they let us forget about our problems and give us a short moment of mental peace? Certainly they don’t change the feeling or solve the underlying problem we tried to distract ourselves from. This is not the moment to look for solutions outside of the box. What is that demon we try to avoid? Seeing it is half of the solution!
