Movie Description: A group of young misfits called The Goonies discover an ancient map and set out on an adventure to find a legendary pirate’s long-lost treasure.

The Movie: If you haven’t seen “The Goonies”, you need to start your tv right now. This is a great family-kid-friendly movie that will have your whole house excited for treasure. It starts off with a group of young teenagers who find an old pirate map in their parent’s attic. They realize that the map is pointing right to a location in their area. The teenagers head out to find the lost treasure of “One-Eyed Willy”, a private whose crew stole a shipload of emeralds, jewels, and diamonds.

You will be at the edge of your seat as you follow along with booty traps slowing down the group from getting the motherload. One by one, these treasure seekers risk their lives to save their parents from a financial disaster. The focus of the story is that IF the kids can find the lost treasure of One-Eye-Willy, then their homes won’t be boughten out to be created a country club by a greedy local businessman. To make things worse, a group of jail escapees and criminals are hot on the trail of the teenagers. How will find the treasure first?

Why it’s Adventurous: The idea that young teenagers what to save their homes and find the treasure is the only thing that stands in their way, is amazing and a big key to the movie. It’s the perfect movie to inspire everyone to go out and find a great adventure. I remember watching this movie as a young kid, dreaming of exploration and treasure. It’s a must-watch!

National Treasure (2004) PG — 2h 11m

A historian races to find the legendary Templar Treasure before a team of mercenaries.

The Movie: Disney did a great job with the movie series. I did say movie series. In fact, soon there will be 3 National Treasure movies to watch. Money was spared no expense and from beginning to end, you’ll keep wanting more. Nicolas Cage plays a well-known historian and a man who comes from a long family legacy, linked to the search for the Templar’s treasure.

You can expect a good Nicolas Cage movie, and this one is great. As he tracks down pieces of the puzzle (clues) to the treasure, his partner and investor double-crossed him. Now, with historical artifacts under threat of being stolen, Ben Gates (Nicolas Cage) and his team must find the lost treasure first. Who will find the treasure worth billions of dollars first?

Why it’s Adventurous: The movie gets into a lot of history of when the United States was born. Our forefathers, the dedication of independents, and even Civil War history are talked about. The whole movie is entertaining but the best part is at the end… I don’t what to spoil it if you haven’t seen it yet! Put on your jammies and turn down the lights. You’ll enjoy this movie.

He is always on the move to find clues but the Nazis are not far behind him, trying to take the treasure of the Ark of the Covenants for themselves. Indiana stops at nothing to find it first. Let’s just say the Nazis are very persistent and they use everything in their power to find it. Yep, if you’re wondering, there are booty traps in the movie. They protect the treasures from those who try to take them.

Indiana uses his close friends and allies to try and preserve this historical and biblical chest of absolute power. Join the race to see who gets there first. The best part is, there will soon be 5 Indiana Jones movies to watch. Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, and Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull. Look for the new movie Indiana Jones movie coming in 2023.

Pirates of the Caribbean (2003) PG-13–2h 23m

Photo Credit: Pirates of the Caribbean

Blacksmith Will Turner teams up with eccentric pirate “Captain” Jack Sparrow to save his love, the governor’s daughter, from Jack’s former pirate allies, who are now undead.

The Movie: Johnny Depp, enough said! :) In this movie, filled with pirates and curses, Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) plays a great role of a pirate that is not to be trusted. Even though at times it may seem that Jack isn’t a good pirate, he always seems to outwit and slip through the cracks. As Jack recruits his shipmates, he runs into quite a lot of trouble. On many occasions, Jack is not only running from one group but many different groups.

In this somewhat comedy film, you will see why dead men tell no tales and you’ll see firsthand, what the life of a pirate was like. Don’t miss the ending when the curse shows its true form and the battle breaks out between good and evil. If you enjoy the first film, you’re in luck because Disney made a total of 5 Pirates of the Caribbean movies. You can binge-watch for hours.

Why it’s Adventurous: Who doesn’t like a great story of pirates? Disney has always done a great job creating fantasy movies. This one is no exception and is one of my favorites movies series. The pirate ships and background of the towns are very real looking. You’ll feel like you’re right there with the cast, exploring the open-wide seas.

The Da Vinci Code (2006) PG-13–2h 29m

A murder inside the Louvre, and clues in Da Vinci paintings, lead to the discovery of a religious mystery protected by a secret society for two thousand years, which could shake the foundations of Christianity.

The Movie: This movie will keep you in suspense and guessing what will happen next! There’s no predicting the outcome of this movie. Tom Hanks does a great job of playing the role of Robert Langdon, a man in the wrong place at the wrong time. Against his will, he is forced to unlock the murder and the mysteries below the motive.

This nail-biting movie will keep you sitting up on the couch, during many different scenes from the neverending mysteries and surprises. This movie will gain your attention pretty quickly. What doe the Da Vinci Code have to do with it? Everything in this movie will surprise you from one conspiracy to another. You’ll see that the last supper of Jesus Christ, might not have been what you thought it was and how the Virgin Mary ties into one of the biggest mysteries ever.

Why it’s Adventurous: You can’t guess by the cover or description what this movie is about and where it’ll go. I found myself thinking it would be one thing, then I would find out that it was another. I don’t want to spoil it. I just suggest that you consider that it’s on the list of top 10 and that you should watch it.

Video game adventurer Lara Croft comes to life in a movie where she races against time and villains to recover powerful ancient artifacts.

The Movie: Angelina Jolie has done very well playing a role of a tough woman, ready for anything and this movie is no different. In this film, you can follow her as she steps into the realm of a very dangerous task of unlocking the mysteries behind an ancient relic that can change the world.

This is the right movie for you if you like action-packed, thrill-seeking treasure movies. Another best part is there are 3 Tomb raider movies you can watch. Tomb Raider 2001, Tomb Raider — The Cradle of Life 2003, and Tomb Raider were released in 2018.

Why it’s Adventurous: This movie is pretty bad-a$$. Angelina Jolie handles shooting her guns while performing some great stunts! You won’t be disappointed if you watch this series. It’s a good swing of a female Indian Jones, on steroids. The special effects are great!

The Movie: This movie really brings your kids to the couch with you. The perfect swing of a young boy who’s caught up in the twister of adventure and treasures. Best family-friendly treasure hunting and adventure movie since The Goonies! It will give a sense of adventure while inspiring everyone to go out and start searching for lost history and riches.

This movie was based on the book: Red Rackham’s Treasure. While shopping at an outdoor market, young reporter Tintin (Jamie Bell), accompanied by his faithful dog, Snowy, buys a model of an old ship called the Unicorn. A shady character named Sakharine (Daniel Craig) and later an American named Barnaby (Joe Starr) try to buy the model from him, but Tintin refuses. From there, Tintin’s life changes forever.

Why it’s Adventurous: Some people say that the storyline is even better than Indiana Jones and similar movies. I can tell you this, my son and I watched it together and we both enjoyed it very much. For the next few months, he watched it again. This is one that you have to watch!

Street-smart Nathan Drake is recruited by seasoned treasure hunter Victor “Sully” Sullivan to recover a fortune amassed by Ferdinand Magellan, and lost 500 years ago by the House of Moncada.

The Movie: The best modern-day treasure hunting and adventure movie! Think of it this way. Mark Wahlberg is playing the role of Victor Sullivan, aka “Sully” as a seasoned treasure hunter, and on the other hand, you have Tom Holland (Spiderman) playing the role of Nathan Drake, inspired by the famous Playstation game “Uncharted.”

Finn is a seasoned treasure hunter, seeking his fortune under the ocean near the shore. Because of their lust and determination for his possible riches, he goes into debt and owes the wrong people money.

WHAT IS TREASURE REALITY TV

There’s a big difference between Hollywood Movies to Reality TV! It doesn’t matter if it’s a show about treasure hunting, paranormal, or adventure. Movies have actors and actresses that play the role of characters. Reality TV is based on real people and real-life situations. Treasure HUnting movies and very entertaining and the special effects are amazing while reality tv is more like a good YouTube video.

Fictional plots, people, and areas are more prone to the movies and real people’s names, hobbies, and interests are for reality tv. This doesn’t mean that Hollywood movies can’t be based on non-fiction stories. In fact, Hollywood spends a big amount of money on their research. So don’t think treasure hunting movies are all fake. You might be surprised about the effect and research that goes into a high-dollar movie.

Reality is filmed differently and it’s based on a person or group that is really attempting to find treasure and riches. These types of tv shows are very interesting because you get to see something that is really happening to a person or group. You get to follow along in their journeys and quests.
