The Super Bowl has nothing to do with politics. Just stop.

It’s hard to believe this has to be said, but here goes:

The outcome of the Super Bowl is symbolic of absolutely nothing.

I know, I know. Tom Brady is a Trump supporter.

And there were remarkable similarities between Atlanta’s chance of winning and Clinton’s.

But seriously, it’s just a football game.

It’s a captivating and entertaining sport, but that’s it.

It doesn’t mean anything for the future.

Can’t we just appreciate that this was a game that perfectly captured the beauty and heartbreak and complexity of football?

I would have preferred any other team win the Super Bowl. But that was an unbelievable, historic game. My sincerest congratulations to the Patriots. You can’t write storylines like that.
