Before we go any further here is the list. How many of these books have you read? I have read a fair number but certainly there were a few titles completely foreign to me. Which is good and bad. I don’t write listicles as a rule. Or at least try to keep the numbers down. So, I will just throw you a few of my personal favorites and why. Why don’t you do the same in the responses.

Frankenstein by Mary Shelley:

This is one of my favorites of all time. If you don’t already know; this is a story about a certain Dr. Frankenstein who builds a monster from the body parts of dead people. It embodies our problems with science and the growing disturbance in people’s minds dealing with the crime of grave robbing. Surgeons at the time when this book was contemporary would often use fresh corpses to study anatomy and for experimentation. It was truly a milestone work and considering the source; it makes it truly monumental.

The Hunch Back of Notre Dame by Victor Hugo:
