The Gathering Storm finishes off the side plot which has been basically the prequel of the story so far. Which is great. It shows how Fennec and Boba met and how they partnered up. They do a bit of time jumping near the end of the story which could mean we still have some prequel story to come at some point in the future. I was a huge fan of this episode and the last. I think they are finally finding their feet as a series. So far this could be an even better series than Mandalorian. While I think Mandalorian started a lot stronger so far this series is going better.

Hopefully, the rest of the series will be Fennec and Boba taking on the Pykes. But the way they have weaved the story in such a wandering manner it seems possible that we might be getting something completely different. Which I wouldn’t be less excited for. But so far, the rising action which is what the Gathering Storm hopefully alludes to; has been extremely good.

Again, the villainous behavior here seems to be in short supply. It would have been much more interesting if Boba Fett was much more villainous. I’m sure the writers assumed that if he was more ruthless people wouldn’t like him or have sympathy for him. But I’m not sure making him a hero does much better.
