Swimming with Sharks was originally supposed to be on Quibi which was a mobile entertainment app that was supposed to deliver episodes of a show that was only ten minutes long. I guess it was supposed to be the Netflix version of TikTok. But it’s gone and now we have Swimming with Sharks, which is a remake of the 1994 comedy of the same name. I never saw the original but I’m a big fan of Kiernan Shipka, mostly for her work on The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. Which was probably one of the best shows to ever be made. Back to Swimming with Sharks

The show is basically about a very dark Hollywood where you can’t trust anyone, and everyone is out to get you in one way or another. Bad things happen all the time and people often get tread on. Into this world, we see Lou Simms who is an aspiring intern for Joyce Holt (Diane Kruger). Little does everyone know just what lengths Simms will go to achieve her goals. Which aren’t exactly clear even by the show’s climax around 5 hours later.

I really liked Swimming with Sharks. I watched in one sitting and was quite happy throughout. It had a snappy plot and some decent characters. But it was filled with flashbacks, long tracking shots, and very short on actual exposition or even real character building. Except for…
